Is one obliged to shake hands with a business client or customer who is obviously sick?

maybe not but it is okay to do it becoz the shaking of hand gesture was done in earlier days to check that the other person did not have any weapons or anything up his sleeve which would fall down if the hand was shaked

yes one should not feel reluctant to shake hands with their clients who are sick because it would not transmit just by shaking hands
