HELLO MATE

p ( x ) = x² - 2√2x + 1

p ( 2√2 ) = ( 2√2 )² - ( 2√2 × 2√2 ) + 1

p ( 2√2 ) = ( 8 ) - ( 8 ) + 1

p ( 2√2 ) = 1

Answer:

here is ur answer hmmmmm

For equal roots, D = 0, i.e., b2 - 4ac = 0

[-2(p - 12)]2 - 4(p - 12) 2 = 0

4(p - 12)2 - 8(p - 12) = 0

4(p - 12) (p - 12 - 2) = 0

(p - 12) (p - 14) = 0

p = 12 or p = 14

Rejecting p = 12, as then the given equation will not be true. We have:

p = 14
