It is necessary for gases exchange due to transpiration the stomata open and closed due to night because of low temperature.

XSMARTYSID: low tempetature does not perfectly fit we can say they do not Neend Co2 at night due to which guard cell are closed

The opening and closing of the pore is a function of the guard cells. The guard cells swell when water flows into them, causing the stomatal pore to open. Simillarly the pore closes if the guard cells shrink
