Is photosynthesis take place in aqutic plants ?yes/no and justify it

The requirements of land based plants and aquatic plants are different. Mineral concentrations for example a rose stem would be too high if it were submerged underwater completely. In addition sunlight to the plant is reduced considerably since light is diffused by particulates in the water which will adversely affect its development. A water hyacinth on the other hand requires minimal sunlight but lots of water and so will not survive in conditions suitable for a rose........
