yes, it is necessary . Every organism has its own mode of reproduction . In plants, which use sexual mode of reproduction, pollination is essential step for fertilization. In pollination, pollen grain from the anther of the stamen ( male part of a flower ) is transfered to the stigma of the pistil or carpel ( female part of a flower) and then it goes to ovary where it fertilizes the egg or ovule. Pollination is essential because if the pollen grains are not been transferred to stigma, the fertilization can't take place.
