well plaster of Paris is made up of gypsum.
When gypsum is heated at about 120-125° C then it decomposes by losing its water of crystallisation forming plaster of Paris
CaSO4*2H2O ----> CaSO4*1/2H2O + 1 1/2 H2O
and also gypsum is again made from pop when water is added to pop.
POP sets and gets hardened and forms a hard solid mass which is gypsum.
