es , It is not valid for irreversible adiabatic process. As we know in irreversible process there is no thermodynamic equilibrium during the process(but are in initial and final state) i.e. ideal gas eqn not valid during the process(but at initial and final state is valid). Now ,if you see derivation of PV^(GAMMA)

you will find out we are using pv=nrt as in derivative form which means in whole process eqn is valid which is wrong.
