The inception of this step was meant to bring positivity , hope and opportunities. It was supposed to prevail for some years only. Late 90s and 00s witnessed huge population growth, and globalisation, so conditions were improved and has improved a lot. Poverty rate has declined a lot as compared to early 90s, we are a developing nation now, thinking and mindset is changing now(not counting exceptions). The problem is not reservation. The problem is it's criteria. I don't understand the basis of caste based reservation. I mean if you really want to help any deprived and poor person, you should judge his condition on the basis of his financial condition. a poor brahmin with bad financial condition will always live in misery , and a rich kid gets every facilities because he is from a particular caste. And before you start judging me, I want to clarify ,I am not frustrated with reservation. It is a genuine question , atleast we should think about that.

I will not justify it with any political reasons, because even so called intellectuals too supported it,just because, they don't want to loose their vote bank.
