Yes respiration is a chemical change. We know that, respiration is the process of breakdown of food to form energy. As here, Glucose (C6H12O6) is oxidised to carbon dioxide (CO2) an' water (H2O) along with released energy at the cells by oxygen from the air that we breathe in. Since, Glucose is produced into new products with its different composition, therefore, respiration is a chemical change.

Respiration is a biological process, in this process air is inhaled, oxygen present in this inhaled air reacts with glucose present in the cells of the body forming carbon dioxide and water. Moreover, we cannot obtain glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water. Hence, respiration is a chemical change.
