Is respiration an endergonic or exergonic process give reason?

Respiration such as cellular respiration is exerorganic process but reactions are actually enderorgonic.These enderorganic reactions uses small amount of energy to prime molecules for later exerorganic process ensuring that energy released is collected by energy carries.
