Is (root x ) a polynomial ? Why?

No, polynomials can only have non-negative integer exponents. Since sqrt(x) is the same as x^(1/2), this breaks the rule since 1/2 isn't an integer.

no bcoz √x = x^1/2 whereas the power polynomial should be a whole no.
