Rubber band is a solid.
If stretching is stopped it will remain as it is.
If the stretching is too much it will break.

Hi there
Actually the rubber is secreted from the rubber tree ,the rubber is a fluid when taken from the tree.
So it is mixed with some chemicals and made them solid.
According to hooks law when stretch and strain are in a material their will be an extension can be observed.
So Basically when a rubber is stretched more than its limit it breaks immediately.
When stretching is stopped the material reaches to the starting position and no change it its shape can be observed ...
Hope this will help u dear☺☺
