is rusting possible in space? give reason

no it is not possible in space because there is no oxygen in space

Thanks for the question !!

Rusting is the corrosion of iron that takes place only if the following factors are present:

1. Mositure
2. Oxygen

But in space the two above mentioned components are absent. Hence rusting wont take place in space. This is why rockets dont rust in space even after several years.
