Is shifting agriculture a good way of farming ?

no it's not because shifting cultivation involves in the burning down of trees and thus leading to deforestation and if the tees are cut the habitat of many animals will also be lost and the soil fertility is also lost becase the nutrients are used by the crops and soil erosion will also take place because trees will not be their to bind the soil
