The sleep is voluntary as well as involuntary. When we are not sleeping that is we are about to sleep it is voluntary and is under the control of cerebrum. But involuntary when we are in a state of sleep and at this point of time cerebrum is quiescent and cerebellum is active. Hope this helps!

The voluntary as well as involuntary action.

Explanation:

  • During sleep the neural system of the body sleeps but the physiological functions of the body like respiration retains.
  • Thus sleep involves the voluntary action of the muscles. All the parts of the muscles fails to receive their nervous coordination.
  • The involuntary functions of the body involves the steady motion of the body.
  • The semi-voluntary organs of the body also receive the stimulation for keeping the body in motion.
