SMELL is regarded as one of the human senses.
Human nerves detect molecules in the air and specify them as smells. On the other hand, it could be said that smell and smell of a substance are two different things.
Smell of a substance is an odour and is a gaseous phase. As it occupies space and has mass, smell of a substance is a matter.

HEY!!
✴Yes, smell is a matter. Although it doesn't have mass and volume but it occupies space. e. g. air also don't have mass and volume but it occupies space. Every gaseous form occupies space but do not have mass and volume. As we know that matter is classified on the basis of 3 things :-
✔mass
✔volume
✔space
▶▶▶So, smell occupies space. Hence, it is a matter.
