Technology is one of the greatest invention ofmankind.Itis so powerful that it shapes our thinking and our way of life within notime.Itis ever evolving.Technology is a tool invented and sharpened by humans to make their lifeeasier.Thosewho know the correct application of technology, be it any sphere of activity, have managed to make lives easier for themselves and to some extent also for others.I feel the best technological breakthrough was the invention of computers which basically led to further advancement in technology viz the creation of many softwares and hardware. Technology has gifted mankind with various boons but look closely and you will realise that technology have blessed mankind with two very important aspects – facility of communication and creation of time.Creation of phone, fax, paging services, mobile services, video conferencing etc are few of the facilities that the human mind has been able to conceive with the aid oftechnology.Allhave played a very importantpart in making the world a ‘Global Village’. Technology has ensured that one can easily communicate with anyone on land, in air(aeroplanes) or even when the person is under the calm waves of dark deep-sea (submarines).But theTime Creation aspect of technology has now posed a challenge and threat which very few had ever thought of. Computers – They have evolved rapidly at the rate of knots. A few decades ago, a single computer was so big that it required a big room to fit in and it used to be surrounded with many fans and other cooling equipments to keep the temperatures down at functionallevel.Nowthat same computer can be carried in a pocket with an inbuilt capacity to sustain itself against any threats internal ( Disk Crash) and external (Virus Attack).

Nowadays , every person who has entered the Internet world is connected to some social networking sites today . There is no doubt that the social media platform has become a new and effective media of expression today. The people associated with it expressly express their opinions through this forum. However, the growing craze towards social media, where it seems to be meaningful in many ways, continues to appear in the case of misuse of it. 

In the past, misuse of social media in the case of communal violence, riots and rumour was reported  It needs to be conscious and alert because in the past, its dire consequences have been revealed. Some time ago in Bengaluru, the behavior of the youth of North Eastern states, which came out in this manner, was heavily misused in this medium. At the same time, in some states including Punjab, social media was used to spread terrorism which became a major challenge for the internal security of the country. In Punjab, the fury of 1984 Sikh riots was started on Facebook. In those messages, the oppressors and the riots were called upon to unite to assassinate the accused politicians. If such messages are shared on this forum then it can be understood why its results will be.

The right of expression of people should be fully supported, but not at the cost of security. It is necessary to curb the misuse of the cyber world and the governance should think seriously about it.
