Sponge is a solid. But by pressing it shrinks because between sponge it has many gaps filled with air. By pressing the gaps filled with the upper portion of the sponge. And by removing the pressure the gap again filled up with air and it becomes in it normal size.

Answer:

hola

Explanation:

A sponge is considered as solid as it has minute holes in which the air is trapped. When we press the sponge, the same air is released and thus we are able to compress it. It helps sponge to regain its shape and mass. In short terms, we can say that sponge is a conpressible solid.
