Not all plants close their stomata at night.

Some plants close their stomata during the day, and opens it up at night (Crassulacean acid metabolism(CAM).

When the stomata is closed, it does not stop oxygen respiration, is only restricts it.

sandhyabehera: bt how they o2 at night
lakshi64: During the daytime plants need light to live, in order to be able to produce sugars and carbohydrates as well as oxygen. However at night they can't produce these. In order to survive this period without light, they breathe, in a way similar to human beings--by using oxygen and carbohydrates. This is called respiration. It is the opposite of photosynthesis.

Plants open their stomata in the morning because they require carbon dioxide to perform phototsynthesis. Photosynthesis is possible only if there is a source of light (which is sun mostly). At the night there is no presence of light, so the plants do not perform photosynthesis at night. Hence they don't need Carbon dioxide at night. Therefore, the stomata is closed in the night. Respiration at night is done by intaking oxygen and giving out CO2

sandhyabehera: but how they take o2 at night?
ScientistKhushi: During the night, plants consume oxygen but they don't release any because photosynthesis is not possible at night. All plants and animals Respire. The process of respiration means intake of O2 and releasing out CO2.
ScientistKhushi: Like the humans and other animals
