➡➡sugar is solid because sugar cannot be floated into like water... sugar has a definite mass and shape and size whereas liquids do not have a definite mass shape and size,only solids have definite mass,shape and size... solids are not flexible Where are liquids are flexible..so sugar is not flexible...

Sugar is solid. Because it is a dense packing of constituent particles. Sugar has a definite volume and shape of its own. Any solid has a volume and shape, which define the solid. That's why sugar is solid.

When sugar is dissolved in water, it breaks into individual particles, because its particles are surrounded by water particles, so it takes the shape of a container. After coming to the dry state, now the sugar due to its definite shape and volume again turns into a solid. That's why sugar is not a liquid but a solid.
