Explanation:

The sun contains a huge amount of a combustible substance - hydrogen.

However, it is not burning in the way you think of as burning. It is, like all the other stars, undergoing a huge fusion reaction, where the hydrogen atoms are being compressed so much under the tremendous gravity of the sun (because it’s so massive) that they fuse with each other to form helium.
