Explanation:

Television

We can recall our parents calling it as the 'Stupid Box' as they thought it was a waste of time. But thought posts the launch of the internet, it still holds some value and space in our houses.

Pros: Television channels can be controlled and inspected. You may want your child to watch certain educative shows and lock a few channels so that they have no access.

Also, a bigger screen would result into a distance watching so that the kids don't ruin their eyes with a screen closer to their vision. TV's do have radioactive emissions, but it may be lesser than a wifi.

Cons: Smart TV's these days can be converted into a living computer and video games can also be played on them. Now to avoid turning your child into an unsocial being or unhealthy due to low physical activity, it's best to limit the time in front of the television.

Tablet

Commonly known as the iPad these days. Tablets are a luxury device, and basically can do mostly do everything that a phone can, other than making calls.

Pros: It is mobile, and has a bigger screen than a mobile phone. Kids cannot place calls accidentally and cause an uninvited situation.

Cons: The time spent on a tablet is on the rise these days by kids, as they are used as the modern pacifier. They are preferring tablets over books, that may help them to proceed technologically, but not very suitable for their eyes.

They usually cause impatient kids to get what they want without waiting for their parent's approval, whether it is a show, movie, online shopping for toys, etc.

Mobile Phone

Gone are the days, when it was cute to see your baby lift up a landline phone upside down and trying to say hello. Mobile phones can be considered to be a boon and a bane, a detailed discussion for another time.

Pros: You can keep a track of where your child is and make sure he/she is safe.

Cons: Yes the wireless network technology has negative impacts on everyone's health. Excessively using a phone for a long period of time, or using it during charging can also cause irreparable losses and burns. It damages the brain and vision slowly.

As quoted by Telegraph, Dr Jenny Radesky, clinical instructor in Developmental-Behavioural Pediatrics at Boston University, said: "Mobile devices are everywhere and children are using them more frequently at young ages. The impact these mobile devices are having on the development and behaviour of children is still relatively unknown.

It might be tempting to hand over an iPad to a screaming child when all else has failed to calm them down. But child psychologists say it may be stunting youngsters' emotional development, because they do not learn how to control their emotions.

Dr Radesky added: "Heavy device use during young childhood could interfere with development of empathy, social and problem-solving skills that are typically obtained by exploring, unstructured play and interacting with friends.

"These devices also may replace the hands-on activities important for the development of sensorimotor and visual-motor skills, which are important for the learning and application of maths and science
