There is only one god but we had given different name to god. This is also right that all gods are one, because we the hindus use to worship different number of gods. According to hindus religion there is 36000 and more number of gods. But, do we wordhip all the gods? No, we use to worship only the main gods who are famous for their powers. The priest used to say that worship this god you get money, worship this god you will get intelligence and more and more, there is no limit of gods according to hindu priest. But do you had thought about the priest they suggests us to do so many things to make the god happy but have you even thought that why the priest didn't get their desired things, even they always used to worship the god. I think I had said so much bad things about the priest now I should stop it, but it is a really point of thinking.

Both of them are separate beliefs. Some believe that there's only one God who takes multiple forms whereas some believe that there're multiple Gods but they are one that is they don't discriminate each other. Whatever be the belief it states the same thing that is we're free to believe/disbelieve in God and follow any religion of our choice.
