ANSWER :
I have dual screens set up as an extended desktop. My main monitor is on the right with the secondary smaller monitor on the left.
I do have the "working correctly" photo screensaver issues raised ad nausea by others which I have corrected by using the Google Picasa screensaver. But I am puzzled by a small black rectangle on the second screen.
The left hand screen has a black rectangle with small arrows like "<>" but solid in the bottom RH corner. This rectangler is positioned about a third of the way down and a third of the way in from the top LH corner. It goes away when I have a window covering the area but it seems to be resident with the wallpaper.
