    Digital India program attempts to give access to all the public to information that they need related to services from the government.  Government will enable their services over the internet.  People can make their requests, file applications, follow the progress, and collect the certificates online.

   The idea is to empower the public, who are facing delays and denials.  This eliminates intermediary agents and ignorance.  The e-services will be available on 24/7 basis.  There will be more transparency and accountability.

   The digital India creates a huge internet connectivity infrastructure all around the country.  The rural areas are to be networked.  Huge amount of business and employment is generated for manufacturing and maintenance of infrastructure.  Many training facilities also benefit from this.

   There are data security issues and data privacy issues that need to be taken care of.  The citizen's data should be protected very carefully.  The access to data may be given through a mobile phone.
