1)  The peninsular plateau consists of two broad divisions, namely, Central highlands and Deccan Plateau

2)  The Deccan plateau is a triangular landmass that lies to the South of Narmada river. It is located between  the Western Ghats, and Eastern Ghats

The Peninsular plateau is composed of two parts i.e. The western edge of the Deccan plateau is formed by Sahyadri, the Nilgiri, the Annamalai and the Cardamom hills and together they are known as Western Ghats.
