The sperm is responsible for the determination for the sex of the chick.

Explanation:

The reproductive system of the poultry is not much different from the other species. They also reproduce sexually like most species. The only difference is their reproductive system slightly being different to accommodate their needs for flight.

Apart from that the male and female poultry mate and produce offspring whose sex is determined by the sperm coming from the male.

Answer:egg

Explanation:

In chicks/birds,

Male gamate(sperm) have 2similar chromosomes(zz)

But female gamate (egg)have 2 disimilar chromosomes(zw).

So 50% of egg has

 z- chromosomes and rest

50%has w -chromosomes.

Sperm produce only one type of chromosomes.

If the sperm fertilises with  egg carrying

z- chromosomes ,the zygote develops into a male and with

w-chromosome, the zygote develop into a female
