Ans: 232 or 88

Since gcd is 8, so let the 2 numbers be 8x & 8y.

Product of 2 numbers = Product of HCF & LCM

8x * 8y = 8 * 224

=>x*y = 28

x & y can be (1,28) or (7,4) in any order.

So, the 2 numbers can be (8, 224) or (56, 32)

Sum can be 8 + 224 = 232

or, 56 + 32 = 88

Answer:

1st number is x and 2nd number is y

So, GCD of two digit number is 8

LCM of the two digit number is 228

product of two number = product of HCF & LCM

8x * 8y = 8 * 224

xy = 224/8

xy = 28

If we find the value of x and y

28 is divisible by 1, 2, 4, 7, 14 and 28

so (x ,y) can be written as (1, 28) (2, 14) and (4,7)

sum of two digit number is 1+28 = 29; 2+14 = 16; 4+7 = 11
