Is the given figure, AB||CD. The line segments BC and AD intersect at 0. Show that: z=x+y​

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, AB||CD and BC intersect them at B and C respectively. Therefore,

angle ABC= angle BCD.(alternate interior angles)

Therefore, angle BCD= y°

or, angle OCD= y°.

Now, in ∆OCD, side DO has been produced to A ,then

angle AOC= angle OCD+ angle ODC

or, z° = y°+ x°

Hence, z°= y° + x°. (Proved).
