if two lines are perpendicular to each other

then their product of slopes is -1

given two lines

line 1 ,: x-3y = 4

line 2 :. 3x-y= 7

first find their slopes

slope of line 1 is 1/3

slope of line 2 is 3

and product of these slopes is 1

hence these two lines are not perpendicular to each other
