Diesel: It is made up of Alkenes.

(ii) Chain length:

Petrol: It has a chain length varying between 5-12 C atoms

Diesel: It has a chain length containing 12 or more than 12 C atoms.

(iii) Boiling points:

Petrol: It has a boiling point in the range of 40-205°C.

Diesel: It has a higher boiling point in the range of 250-350°C.
