Moon doesn't give off light of its own, that's why the moon is considered a non-luminous body. All its light we see is reflected from the sun and to a very minor effect, from the reflection of sunlight off the earth.

No

It is because the light shining from the moon at night is simply a reflection of the sun's rays off the celestial body. The light from the sun shines down on the moon which absorbs some of it and reflects it down to earth.
