Given : Is the multiplicative inverse 1/x always exists

To Find : Yes or No

Solution:

Multiplicative inverse of x  is  1/x

as x * 1/x  = 1

Multiplicative inverse of a number  is basically reciprocal of the number

But if  number is zero  then its reciprocal  1/0 is not defined

Hence multiplicative inverse 1/x  does not exist if  x = 0

Hence Answer is NO

multiplicative inverse 1/x does not  always exists

As this does not exist for x = 0

for x≠ 0  , multiplicative inverse 1/x always exists
