EVALUATION

We know that , Rational number is defined as a number of the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: } Where p & q are integers with q ≠ 0

Here the given number is

\displaystyle \sf{  \frac{3}{ - 8}  }

Which can be rewritten as

\displaystyle \sf{  \frac{3}{ - 8}  }

\displaystyle \sf{  =  -  \frac{3}{  8}  }

This number is of the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: }

Where p = - 3 , q = 8 with q ≠ 0

So the given number is of the form  \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{p}{q}   \: } Where p & q are integers with q ≠ 0

Hence the given number is rational
