the number of electrons in a particular shell is given by the formula 2n^2 .However an electron when gets very exicited loose energy in the forms of radiation and comes in high energy level shell. so electrons can be made to move onto higher energy level shell but as the no of electrons increases it becomes difficult as more and more force is required to move that electron into next higher energy level shell ......
