\sf \underline \red {{Photosynthesis}} is the process by which plant cells makes there own food in presence of chlorophyll ,carbon-dioxide, water and sunlight to form glucose,oxygen and water.

More To Know :-

  • During day time when sunlight falls on the leaf , sunlight gets trapped in chlorophyll present on upper layers of mesophylls.
  • Sunlight is then utilised for manufacturing food with other elements.
  • Carbondioxide diffuses into the leaf because it have higher concentration outside than inside leaf (concentration gradient).
  • Water is absorbed from soil which with osmosis and imbibition travels up to the leaves , where it gets distributed into tissues of mesophyll.

\sf\red{ \boxed{6CO_2 + 12H_2O \longrightarrow C_6H_12O_6 + 6H_2O + 6O_2} }

  • In presence of sunlight and chlotophyll.
  • Photosynthesis not only produces food for themselves but also indirectly for humans and other living beings.It gives out oxygen , without which no living being can survive.
