X=15 AND I=0.3A
Explanation:
- TOTAL RESISTANCE =20ohm
- We should calculate the resistance of x and current flowing through the circuit.
R1= 10ohm
R2=X
R3=25ohm
R4=75ohm
r1 and r2 are in series
so,
Rs1= R1+R2
=10+x...... equation 1..
R3 AND R4 ARE IN SERIES
Rs2= R3+R4
=25+75
=100. ....equation 2
now Rs1 and Rs2 in parallel and
Rp = 20 ohm
1/Rp= 1/Rs1 + 1/Rs2. (by eqa 1 and 2)
1/20= 1/10+X +1/100 ( by taking LCM)
1/20= 100+10+X/ 100(10+X).
1/20= 110+X /1000 + 100X(by cross's multipling)
1000+ 100X = 2200 + 20X
100X - 20X. = 2200 - 1000
80X = 1200
X = 1200/80
X= 15.
I hope it will help you.
