Ajathashatru is the son of bimbisara.there are three different versions in the Buddhist texts on the death of king bimbisara .In this one version is Ajathashatru the son of bimbisara wanted his father to give his kingdom to him and make him as king but is father refuses then he make his father to make some mistakes and send him to jail and he wanted to kill is father but he can't kill his father with any weapon so he got an idea to kill his father he make his father starving in a smokey cell he only enter kosala Devi to see him . His father cannot be killed with any wepon as devadatta said before so he keep his father starve to kill him.
