Dear Student,
Solution:

As we know that the particles of matter have intermolecular spaces between them which help them to easily get diffused in other particles of matter easily as that matter will also contain some intermolecular spaces in it..

If that matter have less intermolecular spaces then it will take time to get diffused in it...

But if they both getting large intermolecular spaces between them, they will get diffused in each other very fastly and easily....

Let us take an Example,
Let we take water (H2O) and sugar molecules.
We know that Water have some amount of intermolecular spaces between it's molecules.

If we add sugar in Water, it's molecules get diffused in the spaces present in the molecules of water or we can say that sugar molecules got diffused in intermolecular spaces if water.

In mixing of Sugar in Water (H2O) takes some time as water doesn't have much intermolecular spaces.

So we can say that speed of diffusion depends upon the amount of intermolecular spaces in a matter.

●Speed of diffusion is directly proportional to the amount of intermolecular spaces in a matter.
