A TALE OF CUSTARD THE DRAGON IS A HUMOROUS AND LIGHT HEARTED POEM.

ALL THE ANIMALS THE LITTLE PET DOG ,LITTLE BLACK KITTEN,LITTLE PET DRAGON AND THE LITTLE MOUSE HAVE FUNNY NAMES .THEY ALONG WITH BELINDA BOAST AND TRY TO SHOW THEIR COURAGE BY DIFFERENT WAYS .

ON COMING OF THE PIRATE,ONLY THE CUSTARD DRAGON WHO WAS COWARD FIGHTS THE PIRATE.AFTER THE PIRATE WAS DEFEATED THE THREE PET ANIMALS AND BELINDA AGAIN STARTED BOASTING....

“The Tale of Custard the Dragon” a light-hearted poem because of many reasons:

1. The names are funny- The names of all the pets- Ink, Blink, Mustard and Custard are funny. Custard’s name is the funniest of all. Custard is liquidy and mushy and something that is eaten, while a dragon is supposed to be strong and is supposed to eat up others.  
2. The size difference- All the characters in the poem-  the mouse, cat, dog, Belinda and even the pirate are tiny compared to Custard the dragon, yet his bravery levels are the lowest amongst all.
3. The descriptions of the characters are funny- Belinda’s bravery is described in terms of ‘a barrel full of bears’, while Ink, Blink and Mustard deal with lions and tigers, but Custard wants to have nothing to do with animals that he can easily scare away. All he wants is a ‘safe cage’.
4. The emotions- Everyone else laughs, but Custard ‘cried’. It is hilarious to think of a dragon crying.
