Yes, the story The Letter is very appropriate as the whole story revolves around one letter, the letter which invites the younger urban dwelling brother to his mother and elder brother for the division of their land among the two brothers.

The title of the story ‘The Letter’ is very appropriate because the entire story revolves around the letter and it weaves the souls of many characters in the story, including that of the Coachman Ali, the postmaster, and their daughters.

EXPLANATION:

The letter creates a channel of hope for Ali, a reason for his survival, and faith he had in his daughter. His faith did come true when his daughter finally wrote a letter to him but alas, he was not more to receive the letter.

The postmaster realizes the value of the letter when he was expecting the same from his daughter. Later to respect Ali, he drops the letter at Ali’s graveyard.

The story clearly depicts that love or letter should never be late, it should be expressed and reach the other person in time to prevent hard feelings.
