The Kanjar Tribe was discriminalised after Independence,but 67 years later the 2.50 lakh strong community in Madhya Pradesh has found that breaking free from the shackles of social stigma is easier said than done..

When tribals were unable to pay their loan or interest ,moneylanders,landlords usurped their lands..The tribals thus become tenants on their own land and sometimes even bonded labourer..This led to rose against Madhya Pradesh...
