Answer: Not the same, of course, but similarly constraining.
I’m sure that mind control is worse and we can do that to ourselves (especially if not raised properly as children, since those memories are permanently locking into our belief system).I had little physical constraints in my childhood other than the “go to your bedroom”, “you’re grounded” and detentions or principal’s office in school. But we all get different levels of mind control. The obvious ones are family, school, laws/police, social expectations. Most of the consequences are only “shunning” but the leverage of being either accepted or shunned is a powerful one.

Yes, there is a correlation between physical and mental control.
- Most people tend to categorise things into "mental" and "physical" categories through internal and external factors.
- This tendency gives rise to the possibility that different metaphysical viewpoints will have different effects on one's ability to exercise self-control.
- Science claims that metaphysical beliefs may affect the emotional, cognitive, and behavioural aspects of self-control effort if self-control is thought to depend on either mental or physical processes and if these processes are thought to be either distinct or interactive.
- The study has found significant variance in how self-control activities are seen metaphysically using both situational manipulations and individual difference measures and have demonstrated it.
