is there a difference between lens formula and lens makers formula???

Using the positive optical sign convention, the lens maker's formula states
(1/f) = (n-1) {(1/R1) + (1/R2)}
where f is the focal length, n is the index of refraction, and R1 and R2are the radii of curvature of the two sides of the lens.

Whereas the in the case of lens formula ,
(1/f) = (1/v) - (1/u)
where f is the focal length and v and u are the Image and Object Distances
