Is there a difference in the way metals and non-metals react with acids?

yeah non-metal react highly to acids than metals!!

Answer: Non metals do not react with acids

FOR EXAMPLE : C + h2so4 = No reaction

Generally metals react with acids and release hydrogen gas with "pop" sound.
