Yes of course there exists a generation gap between me and my parents. The age difference between us and our parents is roughly of 25 years and that is a long period of time. During this entire time, there are so many technological advancements, educations opportunities and society up-gradations(by this I mean that society becomes more liberal and less orthodox with time), that there is bound to be a difference in thinking and opinions between the two generations. It is an obvious phenomenon.

I constantly have had opinion differences with my parents and I'm sure I will have more of them in the coming times. But I have never seen it as a problem. My parents have always made it a point that everytime we have an argument regarding anything, they allow me to put forth my points and reasons to which they listen to very carefully and then they say whether they are for it or against it. When I was a teenager, the differences grew too much in number and I found every rule, every thing wrong and tried to go against it. When my parents would not allow me to have my way, I would become repulsive and sad because I thought that they are not understanding me (a very common problem with teenagers). But now when that phase is gone and maturity has started to get inside me, I look back and thank God that I had their strictness with me which has made me the person I am today. If they had let me have my way, I would have made way too many mistakes which would have caused irrecoverable damages.
