These are of two types:

• Physical Weathering- It is the process of breaking down of rocks due to the process of abrasion or soil erosion. In this, no chemical processes are involved.

• Chemical Weathering- The disintegration of rocks due to the chemical reaction in the environment are known as Chemical weathering.

        It forms new substances after the reaction took place.

         They are more likely to occur in hot and humid environment having      high temperatures.

   In cities or urban areas, due to factory emissions and heat dome areas, the temperature of the atmosphere are more likely to be high all the day.      This provide a suitable condition to the chemical reaction to take place.
