The number is -1
we see ( - 1)³ = - 1
whereas ( - 1)² = 1
we see ( - 1)³ = - 1
whereas ( - 1)² = 1

The answer is (-1)
(-1)*(-1)=1,not equal to square
(-1)*(-1)*(-1)=(-1),which is equal to its cube
(-1)*(-1)=1,not equal to square
(-1)*(-1)*(-1)=(-1),which is equal to its cube
