A short period of favorable conditions was sufficient to start fungal growth. Temperature was not a limiting factor for fungal growth on building materials, because fungi grew at even below 10°C. The relative humidity of air had no direct influence on the growth of fungi. Fungi may grow at very low levels of air humidity if water is available on the surface.
