Well... I don't have an idea myself about how to focus and stuff.
But just go for some interesting novels with some illustrations rather than some boring totally text novels.
Bcz when u get some interest, u would probably want to read it. Well, atleast it is like that in my case...
Even if it is all text, some books are good if u can add up imagination.
Also age too determines the interest on some kinds of books.
U can take my example...
I used to get some novels on mystery and adventure as prizes during my 4th and 5th classes. However, then I didn't feel them interesting, and I just shelved it away. But when I read it in 8th, I found them interesting enough.
So I would advise u, rather than prying on apps and stuff, just go for novels of ur type ya' know.
